TeachFX

What it does

Teachers record a lesson on a phone, tablet or laptop. TeachFX's AI learns the teacher's voice from a short sample, then reports how much of the class was teacher talk, student talk, group talk, silence and media, plus use of academic vocabulary and high-leverage practices such as open-ended questions, specific praise, pressing students to explain their thinking, and wait time. Reports are private to the teacher by default; teachers can choose to share. School partnerships also get school-wide engagement trends without exposing individual teacher recordings.

Best for

Teachers and instructional coaches who want objective, private feedback on student talk and questioning, and school or district leaders who want school-wide talk-time trends without using the tool for evaluation.

Price

School or district licenses by quote; individual teachers can start a limited free trial. No public dollar amount on teachfx.com (checked 2026-11-05).

Limitation

It analyzes classroom audio only, so it does not score lesson content quality or student learning. Recording classroom audio may need a local policy check even though TeachFX states it is FERPA and COPPA compliant for professional-development recordings. Individual reports stay private unless the teacher shares them.

Grades
