Planning notes for this lesson
Prerequisite skills to check: knowing subject and object pronouns (I/me, he/him); writing complete sentences; recognizing nouns that a pronoun can replace.
Warm-up idea: Write two short sentences on the board ('The scientist won an award. The scientist studies bees.') and ask students how to combine them into one sentence without repeating 'the scientist.'
Exit ticket idea: Students combine four pairs of sentences using who, whose, which or that, and write one sentence that uses where, when or why correctly.
Always check the AI's plan and answers before you teach.
